Thursday

In religion today we began talking about Advent and how Mary was born without sin so she could be the Mother of Jesus. We also talked about how she always said yes to God and didn't sin.

In reading we talked about using illustrations to get information using the story, "Officer Buckle and Gloria".
Students also read about fire safety. there are writing about safety this week in their writing journals.
They are also going to draw a diagram of their houses showing where the windows and doors are.
This should be fun!
In social studies we started the history unit beginning with Native Americans. Students will be creating a timeline of US history events, including pilgrims, pioneers, the Civil War, immigrants, and looking at the history of a community.
In math we are finishing up two-step story problems. However, I will continue to send some home for practice.
Tomorrow is buck-a-jeans day and PRIDE Day.
