Tuesday

Today in religion we began a Stations of the Cross booklet. Students will learn about each station.
The next schoolwide Stations of the Cross will be on Friday, March 23 at 2:00 pm.
In math students practiced subtracting money. They need to practice renaming and the decimal throws them for a loop. We will continue to review and practice. tomorrow we will be practicing story problems using money and subtraction.
In language we are working on pronouns and when to use them. From now on when using "I" in a sentence it must be capital or I will mark it wrong. No more capitals in the middle of words or sentences when they are not proper nouns. Also, there need to be space left between words. Again, if I can't read it, it is wrong.
Also, students need to practice bringing their agendas home daily, even if they don't change. It is good practice for next year.

Monday

Today we learned what the Corporal Works of Mercy are. Then we put our faith into action by counting the school supplies that were collected last week. 2C sorted the supplies, we counted them, and 2C graphed them. It was a team effort. There were a ton of supplies collected. Good job 2nd grade!

In reading we reviewed contractions and compound words. Students also worked in small groups using stop watches to check their reading fluency.
Students went to the library and had art.
I did attach to the assignment sheet the class list for valentines. If you choose to send in a small treat, please do not send in cupcakes. Maybe a treat on the healthier side would be a great idea.
