May 1st May Crowning

Hello Parents of our Saint John XXIII Catholic School Community!

As you know, next Friday May 1st is May Crowning.

May Crowning is a very special day in which we honor our beloved Mother Mary:
In the whole history of the world, nobody has ever been quite so brave as Mother Mary, a teenager from a little, unknown town in Israel.  Everything we know today depended on what she would say when the angel Gabriel announced to her that she would give birth to the Son of God.  It is sometimes easy for us to forget that Mary had a choice.  After she heard what the angel had to say to her, she could have said no,  but instead she said “Let it happen according to God’s plan”  Mary let God have her whole life, body and soul.  Let us always pray that we can become as generous with our life as Mary was with hers.

Please send a Flower for our Blessed Mother Mary, to school with your child in her honor next Friday.  Classrooms will proceed to the Mary Statue throughout the morning to place the flowers in vases that will be at the statue.

Thank you and God Bless!
