Monday

I believe that someone has posted on my blog. Please don't click on any links, especially if they are not specific to 2B. I only post about my class.

I will be posting the recording of the presidents tomorrow, as I still have one child that needs to record his president report again.

Wednesday is an 11:50 dismissal and it is crazy hat and crazy sock day for the school bringing in over 200 items for the school auction.
There is no grid or other homework this week, as it is such a short week. There is a spelling test tomorrow.

Today we reviewed suffixes and contractions. In math, students reviewed time. In science, those that stay with me discussed the lifecycle of an insect and the parts of an insect.

Friday

So sorry for not blogging this week. The technology here at school has been having hiccups, especially at the moment when I wanted to blog. My computer even froze, so we had revert to dry erase boards and markers. Much like blackboard and chalk, for those old enough to remember. I love my technology.

It appears it's up and running right now, so here I go.
We have been so busy this week. We began and are now finishing up the math unit on time. Students seem to really be picking it up quickly.

In language, students worked on contractions and possessives. We will continue to work on they seem to need more practice.  Dr. Ochsner was kind enough to record students reading their president reports in Chatterpix. I am in the process of making them into an imovie. It should be ready early next week. I will upload to You tube and email parents the link. Parents are free to share the link.

In science, we are working on the desert habitat. We have also discussed the lifecycles of chickens and bugs. We also discussed the parts of ladybugs.

Happy Friday!

Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! Students went to Mass as usual. We listened and looked at the wonderful president models that everyone has brought in. They do look like a ton of effort went into them. I also like how much input students were given with their models. Great job!
I think the principals may be stopping by to view the models sometime this week.
In math, students had fun measuring items in the classroom.

Don't forget Friday is crazy hat and crazy sock day for free! It is also donut day before school. That sure will make everyone on time! It is also Pride Day and buck-a-jeans day.

Also, field trip permission slips and payment slips are due on Friday.

Tuesday

I hope everyone had a great long weekend. Coming back on St. Patrick's Day is always so fun. The students were wearing their green accessories.
The server at school has been acting up as a result, I wasn't able to blog last Thursday. But it will be fixed soon.
Since it's Tuesday, the regular weekly assessments were given. Those who brought in their president models early shared them. There were some St. Patrick's Day work thrown in, to liven up the day. In math, we began a new unit on measuring in inches and feet.
Students were treated to a movie about St. Patrick at the end of the day.

Remember Pride Day on Friday and report cards will be available on Thursday.
We have a field trip scheduled for next Tuesday, March 24 to Desert Center @ Pinnacle Peak from about 9:00-12:00. Permission slips and debit slips are due on this Friday. The total amount for the field trip is $6.50.
Happy Tuesday

2.       Get your tickets! We have already sold 200 and trust us when we say you do not want to miss all the fun, wonderful people and memories that will be made.
3.       Sponsor the event and get some wonderful exposure for your family and/or business. The website has all the information.
Please remember all monies directly benefit our school and the children who attend here. It’s going to be a great night!
