Tuesday

We have adopted a cardinal who is one of the cardinals in the conclave at the Vatican looking for a new pope. We will pray for him each day until a new pope is found and then for 3 days after that. We are praying that the Holy Spirit guides him and the others as they search for a new pope.
His name is Angelo Bagnasco, from Italy, born 1943-1-14. He's been a Cardinal since 2007-11-24 and his function is: Archbishop of Genoa, Italy.

We also talked about prayer and the different kinds of prayer today in religion. We also talked about how the cardinals in the Vatican are voting to find a new pope. Students learned that there needs to be a two-thirds vote to elect a pope.

In language arts we completed the weekly assessment, spelling test, close test, and dictation. We also worked on our persuasive letters to President Obama about how he can help save the Earth. The students are writing a two paragraph letter to him. They are on a second edit.
In math we reviewed division with 2 and 3. Students also completed story problems to practice problem solving.
In social studies students learned about land forms. They also made pictures and labeled all the different kinds of land forms.

Remember there is a Change War going on this week. So students can bring in their change all week.
Friday is Pride Day, Green Accessories Day, and the end of the 3rd Quarter.
