Thursday
We attended the beautiful mass for the Immaculate Conception of Mary. It was a high mass with lots of singing and an extra reading. The students behaved very well for the extended mass.
In math we are finishing up our first math book. We will begin the second one after the break. Right now we are doing some review.
In reading we are working on a persuasive argument and writing multiple paragraphs. We are also working on homophones.
We finished up our unit in social studies on community.
In science we will begin the weather section of the air and weather unit soon.

Angel decoration for the Christmas Concert
Mrs. Quinn has graciously volunteered to create our angel for the Christmas Concert.
She has received only 16 beautiful little angels. That means she is missing about 8 angels. If your child has not turned in a decorated little angel, please bring it tomorrow so it can be part of the class angel. the decoration is due on Monday.

Thursday
It's definitely winter now. Be sure to have your chil wear a jacket or sweater. They are allowed to wear any jacket outside, only Pope John sweaters or sweatshirts in the classroom.
The Pep Rally scheduled for tomorrow was changed to next Wednesday, after lunch.
Today we are starting a funny story called, "Click, Clack Moo Cows that Type". We are working with cause and effect in the story. We are also working with the blends str, spr and scr.
Students are working on a persuasive argument writing. The topic is "why you should come to Bl. Pope John XXIII School".
In math we are working on division by 2 and word problems.
We moved desks today. It was the end of the month yesterday and the students reminded me we move desks every month. I will be gone tomorrow, so if there are seating issues I will fix them on Monday.
